Description
Willy Suter, born in July 1918 in Basel and died in March 2002 in Geneva, is a Swiss painter.
from 1939 to 1941 he studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich with Ernst Gubler.
In 1942 he was a student of Alexandre Blanchet at the Geneva School of Fine Arts. As a young artist, he became a member of the Kunstlergruppe of Winterthur, of the society of painters and sculptors, section of Geneva in 1946 and of the Corps Saint group of Geneva in 1948. His first friends were the painters Rollier and Alberto Giacometti.
His works are presented in the collections of the museums of Geneva, Aarau, Winterthur, Saint-Gall and Thun.
