Description
Mid-century, Marzi and Remy, West German, triangular, decorative ceramic box with lid and small handle, circa 50’s.
Also sometimes referred to as a ” Bonbonnire”, (“bonbon”, which means “candy” in French), which was traditionally put into small storage jars/bowls with a lid, used exclusively for sweets and/or candies.
A very practical, lovely item that can be used to store certain small items in a bedroom (like jewelry), or in a bathroom (for cotton,) or placed on display as a decorative object, on a shelf or coffee table, as a nice accent piece, adding a personal touch to your interior design scheme.
There are numerous, multi-colored, hand- painted triangles, gold-colored, gilded edges and other design details typical of the era (see photos.)
