Color use demonstrates Paulovics as fine master of tonal painting. Artist used impasto painting technique that uses thick, rich layers of paint. Applying the paint thickly, author produced an truly incredibly beautiful effect. Teodors Paulovics captured the impressionistic aspects of nature – afternoon light of the sun in late fall- more then details of natural forms. Teodors Paulovics studied art in Vilhelms Purvitis workshop (founder of the national school of painting in Latvia). Painting was created in in the early sixties when landscape painters of workshop of Vilhelms Purvitis where related with features in the structure of the composition, the tone solution and colorfulness of nature representation.
