Description
In 1918, Jean Mrillon bought pottery in Caudran, on the outskirts of Bordeaux. In 1919, he founded the C.A.B. Bordeaux art ceramics. CAB will have an avant-garde production, tinged with ouveau and Art Deco art, and will participate in the great Primavera adventure by producing pieces for the Spring department stores. This oblong vase in Colorl has a beautiful enamel with nuanced drips, on a frank red background. It is a typical part of the productions of the 20s, with a sober form and highlighting the know-how of potters in terms of enameling and mastery of cooking.
The vase is in enameled sandstone, Art Deco era. It is stamped Cab Ceramics of Bordeaux art on the back and numbered 73.
