Description
Midsummer Night’ Acrylic and marble plaster on canvas board 50×50 cm image 56 x 56 Framed I create the picture first in plaster, made from marble dust and a binding agent. This produces a tangibly dimensional look and feel. After being gessoed, I then paint on this relief with high-quality, heavy-body acrylic paint. The end result is a unique and impactful artwork which tends to draw the viewer in. I saw this magical, pink rambling rose falling over a tree stump while visiting a wild garden full of grasses and a wonderful mix of summer flowers. When I started painting this, it became enchanting and I realised that I was painting the scene as if it was in moonlight. This painting is on a canvas-covered board – no glass required. The painting has several coats of a satin varnish for UV and dirt protection. It is signed and dated on the back.
