Description
The Mastro chair was designed by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Molteni in 1980. It is an important example of Italian design that focuses on function and style. The Scarpa duo is known for their creative use of materials and shapes, and they aimed for comfort with the Mastro. The use of oval, tubular metal for the frame, along with curved plywood for the seat and back gives the design a distinctly different look, especially when paired with this calming, light blue color. Small signs of wear consitent with age and use can be spotted. The small black plastic leg base protector at the bottom of one chair leg is missing.
