Description
A rare Scandinavian RYA wall hanging tapestry designed in the 1970s for EGE Rya, a subsidiary of Denmark’s prestigious rug manufacturer, EGE Taepper. The bold and whimsical design depicts a colourful abstract owl with three baby owls sat on a branch, in 100% thick wool pile in shades of orange, red, and golden yellow outlined in black/brown. In very good vintage condition with strong colours and minimal wear.
Rya rugs are traditional Scandinavian wool rugs characterized by their shaggy and luxurious pile. These versatile pieces of home decor were used interchangeably as carpets, bed coverings, and wall hangings.
In good condition. 100% wool. Design Ugle orange. Missing its Ege Vaegrya label.
