Description
Oto Pladers (1897.8.III 1970.2.V) Oto Pladers learned in Riga city school of art (1913 15). He was called into the army in 1916 and continued studies after the war in Latvia Art academy under the guidance of J. R. Tillbergs (1921 25) and V. Purvitis (1926 29), but he didnt graduate academy. O. Pladers worked as a teacher in school of Dubulti and later in Tartu school of art Pallas (1925 26). He worked as a stage designer in National Opera (1936), as a restorer in City art museum (1938). After the Second World War artist was a pedagogue in J. Rozentals Riga School of art. He was a member of Independent artists society (1923 40), and took part in its exhibitions since 1923. Artist set out on a creative journey to Paris in 1930. Self-exhibitions were made in Riga (1930, 1932, 1967).
