Description
A quiet, calming mid century modernist landscape, painted in oil onto canvas. In this restful scene we see a rocky outcrop to the right, a rock stream down below, and greenery all around. Nestled between the greenery is a house, whose top half we can just see peeking out. The artist has used broad brushstrokes with areas of texture, giving this painting its sense of depth. The angular lines of the forms of the outcrop juxtapose wonderfully with a softer, more rounded forms of the greenery. The painting is housed in its original mid century frame with several windows, efficiently drawing our attention inward towards the painting. The painting is in very good vintage condition. The frame has some very minor scuffing, typical for its age. Please note that there is some glare present in the close up photos, the colours are rich and not faded at all when viewed in person and not through a camera. Size: 63 x 72 cm (including frame)
