Description
Catalogued as Gallaservice ‘Royal Banquet’ this exceptionally rare decanter is exibited without the stopper at the Danish glass Museum Hardernet and described in the book Royal Glass ‘Kongelig Glas’ by Ole Villum Krog fra 1996. This crystal glass service with detailed engravings and etchings was commissioned by The Royal Danish House for use at Gala’s and Banquets at Amalienborg. To this present day it is still in use at Christiansborg Castle. This decanter is a piece of this collection. It was made by either Kosta Boda in Sweden prior to 1920 from where it was initially ordered from or if made in 1920 by Holmegaard in Denmark who took this job over in 1920.
