Description
Constructed from beech wood in 1880, this panel would have originally been part of an interior partition in a Chinese home, providing airflow while preserving some privacy. Originating from Zhejiang in eastern China, the two main panels contain rudimentary carved reliefs of figures on a floral background. Dark maroon and black carvings contrast with the paler frames for an attractive result.
