Description
Paysages et ruines de Rome is an original artwork realized by Stefano Della Bella in 1646. Etching in paper, signed on plate on the left margin, es. II/VI. The artwork is attached on passpartout: 37.5 x 55 cm. Good conditions Stefano Della Bella (17 May 1610 12 July 1664) was an Italian draughtsman and printmaker known for etchings of a great variety of subjects. Returning to Florence in 1650, he resumed working under the protection of the Medici court, working for his patrons; he creates title pages, illustrations of feasts and views that enhance the Medici splendors. In 1656 he became a member of the Apatistas’ Academy. Stefano Della Bella has left us over a thousand engravings.
