BIOGRAPHY
Tommaso Cascella was born in Rome in 1951. Painting and sculpture are natural languages for him, the result of a multigenerational inheritance. His painting is prone to three-dimensional transposition, in symbiosis with his bronze sculpture. Cascella’s intense chromatic compositions are true architectures studded with symbols, almost an alchemical alphabet charged with universal meanings. Painting and sculpture are treated with a desire to contaminate sight with touch, the smooth surface of color with a layering of gestures and signs, the ideal plane of painting with showy material inserts.
