Description
A very rare vase with a motif of Swedish vikings in a viking boat sailing on a deep blue ocean. The vase is made of rough chamotte clay and glazed on the inside. The motif is also glazed. Vintage midcentury from Tilgmans 1970s.
Tilgman’s Ceramics was a ceramics workshop outside Gothenburg, operating around 19481975 under the direction of its founder Paul Harald Tilgmann (19041974). Tilgman’s ceramics are mainly known for objects decorated with the so-called sgraffito technique, as well as for animal figures.
