Composition. 1998. Paper, pencil, 29.5×21 cm Vladimir Borisovich Glushenkov (May 21, 1948, Riga – December 26, 2009, Riga.) – painter, graphic artist, poet, translator. Born in Riga in a Russian-Polish-German family. Vladimir Glushenkov graduated from the Riga Applied School (sculpture class) and the Art Academy of Latvia with a degree in scenography (1976). Participated in exhibitions since the late 1960s. from 1976 to 1996 – set designer at Latvian Television. Designed performances in the Riga National, Art (Dailes) and post-Youth (under the chief director O. Shkatov) theaters, in the independent theater “Kabata”, painted multi-meter street posters for the cinemas “Riga” and “Spartak”, in the 70s – Illustrator of the magazine “Liesma”.
